LOOKING AHEAD TO THE FUTURE WITH OUR EXPERIENCE
Today, BRUSS supplies the leading automotive manufactures in the world. The company started on its journey to this top position about half a century ago, which was initiated by our founders Günther and Gertrud Bruss.
1957 | Günther and Gertrud Bruss begin trade and distribution of O-rings as sole proprietors. |
1959 | Dichtungstechnik Mahlich & BRUSS KG is founded on 15th October 1959 and invests in expanding its own production facilities. In Großhansdorf (Schleswig-Holstein), the production of O-rings starts on acquired compression machines. The start-up capital is € 3500. |
1965 | In order to expand capacity, production is relocated to Hoisdorf, just a few kilometres away, where the headquarters of the BRUSS Group is still located today. After the death of Mr. Mahlich, Günther and Gertrud Bruss assume all shares of Dichtungstechnik G. Bruss KG. |
1970 | The product range is enlarged with cam covers and oil sump modules. BRUSS concentrates all its efforts on the rapidly-growing German automotive market. The first OEM customer acquired by the company is Mercedes-Benz. |

The company expands its product range with up-market plastic components for powertrains. The BRUSS group holds two thirds of the shares in BRUSS Kunststofftechnik. |
1998 | BRUSS decides on the repurchase of the minority share of Federal Mogul. The company is once again entirely family-owned. |
